Joseph has been analysing and forecasting economies and financial markets for almost thirty years. Joseph’s team forecasts the major economies, their central banks’ policy stance and the major currency pairs. Joseph’s team also analyse commodity markets and the economic and financial market impact of sustainability issues such as renewable energy, transport, corporate disclosure, carbon markets, circular economy and biodiversity. Joseph joined the Bank’s Australian economic team in 2005 from the economic division of the Prime Minister’s Department. Prior to these roles, Joseph was the forecasting economist at specialist economic modellers, Econtech (now part of KPMG). Joseph started his career in Treasury’s international and macro-economic divisions.
